Beyond

Beyond fear is love
Beyond death is life
Beyond there is here
Beyond ignorance is wisdom
Beyond ageing is youth
Beyond heartbreak is letting go
Beyond tangible is thought
Beyond holding on is growing up
Beyond despair is peace
Beyond separation is bliss
Beyond cynicism is acceptance

Discover
The depths within you
It is “but"one lifetime.

Thanks,Bill Watterson

The server in our office is not working and its a dull boring day. While office colleagues gossiped and housewives slept, I sneaked into the crossword on the first floor of our office building and treated myself to yet another series of Calvin and Hobbes.

I was thoroughly entertained, educated and relaxed at the same time. The humour is so unmistakable, I laughed out loud so many times, that I had to literally hide in the bookshelves to save myself from the staring glances of other readers and staff members.

Needless to say that I feel that they are complete morons to think that anybody can read Calvin with a measured behavior in public!!!!

I love Calvin’s intelligence, arrogance, innocence, sadism.

I promise to buy myself the entire series…..if it makes me so happy…..

Life isn’t about surviving, inhaling and exhaling air….

Unlike a long stretch of tar, its a journey, which when in present tense it’s a horror movie and when in past tense a comic opera. Which is why when I read Calvin I can relate to his loathe of going to school, his love for the cookie jar and his crush on Susie Derkins. Problems, so intense that he often transforms into Spaceman Spiff or stupendous man.

These little moments which detach us from present life and transport us into a world of a innocent fun ,when everything is amorphous, shapeless, intangible, yet powerful enough to make a difference to the otherwise stressful more tangible life.

I think we should all treat our souls to such moments more often….

In the make belief world
Of our everyday lives

Is a castle
Ruined under the oceans deep
Waiting
To be discovered by a lone sun ray
Which can cut though the waves

Deep

The castle was
Thriving
Ruined by dust
From your office desk
And soot from the cities traffic

Lurked and breathed its last
At the traffic signal
While you zoomed the last lap
to reach a place
you were warned against.

******
Its time
For bloom
Sunshine
And some moon

Its time for a red rose
On the white snow bed

*******

Call for a rainbow
And wear dark glasses
And wonder why you didn’t see

They say when its time
You will know

You use a stop watch
And wonder why time never changed

You wear a devil’s mask
And wonder why people don’t laugh

Leave a little space
To penetrate
For the lone sun ray….

Unsent Messages

Those unsent messages
Which peeped from the folds in your voice

Did I ever comprehend them right?
Did you ever speak to me?
Did I only read you?

Did you ever meet me
In those meetings we never had?
Did I see you walk past me
In the blank?

But you are
An important part
Of that image
I see in the mirror

Of those sketches
That form in my head
When I listen to music

Of that nostalgic fragrance
Of freshness that soaks my bed
With your denim after shave
Before I immerse in my dreams

Of the thoughts
That cloud my head
When I touch a skin texture
Like yours

Of that electrifying feeling
When I listen to a laughter like yours
Or see another squarish hand like yours
Or when I read and re-read what you write….

…Beyond the realm of these powerful emotions
There is a world which simmers
In my heart
When in an intimate rendezvous
With myself,
I unfold it
Feel it
Caress it

I discover
It is just me
The freshness
The Sketches
The Texture
The nostalgia
The Pointed shadow your nose made
In the darkness of the night
And your sudden laughter for no reason

I discover
On this journey
With my soul
That all this is
Just me

And does it matter
If I comprehended it right
Or it was just a picture I created
Or you thought of another…
…which was the opposite?

Those savory feelings
Make me smile
And give me strength
Unparalleled,unfound

And does it matter
That you don’t even know?
Does it matter
That we don’t meet often
And conversations
Are now crisp and to the point

Tell me -does it matter?
As long we share a chemistry…
…though different in our heads
As long as we are more
In touch with ourselves
With or without
What another feels!!!
